Amtec's professionals have extensive experience applying state-of-the-art modeling and simulation (M&S) technologies to meet our customer's engineering, programmatic, testing, and training requirements.
| |
Example applications include: development of simulations for a variety of complex interoperable systems, conducting performance analyses using such simulations, generation and integration of high-resolution terrain databases, using virtual systems and environments to achieve test design and development, and development / migration of sensor and platform models that are compliant with High Level Architecture (HLA) specifications.
Amtec is successfully applying modeling and simulation techniques to programs in a diversity of areas including Air and Missile Defense, Close Combat, Combat Engineer Support, Weapon System Modernization and Weapon System Sustainment.

Amtec is currently serving as the Integration Contractor for the Virtual Proving Ground (VPG) Program of the U.S. Army's Developmental Test Command (DTC). DTC, an element of the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), is using the VPG Program to implement test and evaluation (T&E) aspects of the DoD Simulation Based Acquisition initiative and the Army SMART initiatives.

VPG will combine conventional T&E facilities with M&S supporting tools. These supporting tools include virtual environments, databases from previous simulations and tests, common simulation objects (for reuse in M&S); common architectures (for sharing data, between users / facilities), common protocols (so shared data can be understood), common interfaces (to support distributed simulation), and units under test (hardware / software).
VPG will be used to develop the right mix of simulation and live testing to ensure effective and efficient support for materiel systems over a system's entire life cycle.
