Each certification course begins with subjects that cover basic explosives safety. The core subjects shown below are presented during the first 2 days.

Additional subjects are added to the basic core subjects to create courses that emphasize a specific mission, type of explosive operation or procedure, or a specific area of interest. The following 3-day courses include the core subjects (2 days) plus the additional subjects shown (1 day) for a total of 3 days of training.

• Certification Course #201 (3 days) Emphasis on safe range operations and demolition procedures.

• Certification Course #202 (3 days) Emphasis on development and testing of artillery and mortar rounds, fuses, small arms ammunition, associated weapon systems, and small explosive devices.

• Certification Course #203 (3 days) Emphasis on rocket and missile system development, assembly, disassembly, and testing.

• Certification Course #204 (3 days) Emphasis on aircraft armament systems, flight line loading procedures, and system tests.

• Certification Course #205 (3 days) Emphasis on safe handling and testing of propellant and pyrotechnic material and components.

• Certification Course #350 (3 days) Emphasis on test and evaluation of rocket and missile propulsion systems and components.

Some government organizations and private companies require a 40 hour course for employee certification. The following courses offer an in-depth treatment of the subject material allowing sufficient time to explore practical applications and proven techniques. The core subjects that were described above are presented during a 2 day period along with the subjects shown below for a total of 5 days or 40 hours of training.

• Certification Course #404 (5 days) This course is an expansion of Course # 203 with extensive emphasis on rocket and missile system development and testing.

• Certification Course #303 (5 days) This course offers expanded coverage of Course # 205 with additional emphasis on handling and processing propellants and pyrotechnic materials.
